This Privacy Policy explains how Detroit Parking LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our mobile app, website, parking services, and related features (collectively, the "Services").

We collect information you provide directly and automatically when you use our Services, including:

  • Personal Information you provide: Name, email, phone number, payment details, vehicle information, license plate number, and any data you submit when creating an account or making a parking transaction.
  • SMS Information: If you opt-in to receive SMS notifications, we collect and store your phone number, phone number country code, SMS consent status, opt-in date/time, and all SMS communications. This information is used to deliver transactional messages and maintain records of your communication preferences.
  • Technical & Usage Information: IP address, device identifiers, browser info, location data, parking lot access times, and other usage data via cookies or similar technology.
  • Communication Records: We maintain records of all SMS messages, delivery status, read receipts, and your responses to SMS communications (such as STOP or HELP commands) for customer support and legal compliance.

How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide and fulfill parking services and transactions.
  • Send SMS notifications: booking confirmations, time reminders (10 minutes before expiry), extension confirmations, and zone code responses to customers who have opted in.
  • Communicate with you about your account or Services via email, SMS, or other means.
  • Improve our app, website, and Services.
  • Send you marketing and promotional messages via email only (with your consent). Marketing SMS requires separate opt-in.
  • Comply with legal obligations and regulatory requirements, including SMS compliance records for TCPA and carrier regulations.
  • Provide customer support and respond to inquiries.

  • With service providers who assist us in delivering the Services.
  • With SMS providers: We share your phone number and booking information with Bird to deliver SMS messages. Bird processes this data according to its Privacy Policy (https://www.bird.com/legal/privacy) and complies with SMS carrier regulations.
  • With partners or affiliates when necessary to fulfill Services.
  • As required by law, or to protect rights and safety.
  • We do not sell your Personal Information for commercial purposes. Your phone number is never sold to third parties for marketing.

SMS Services & Bird

SMS Messaging Powered by Bird:

  • SMS Opt-In and Consent: You opt into SMS notifications by explicitly checking a consent box during parking reservation checkout at https://www.dparking.us/book-parking. Your consent is required before any SMS messages are sent.
  • Service Provider: We use Bird as our SMS service provider to deliver transactional messages including parking confirmations, booking reminders, time expiration alerts, and extension confirmations.
  • Data Collected for SMS: When you opt in, we collect and share your phone number (in E.164 format), name, license plate number, parking location, booking details, and other information necessary to deliver SMS notifications. This data is shared with Bird to facilitate message delivery.
  • Message Types and Frequency: You will receive SMS messages for transactional purposes only: (1) Booking Confirmations - immediately after reservation, (2) 10-Minute Reminders - 10 minutes before booking expiration, (3) Extension Confirmations - when time is added to booking, (4) Zone Code Responses - when you text a parking zone code. Message frequency depends on your booking activity.
  • Bird Privacy and Data Processing: Bird processes your data according to its own Privacy Policy (available at https://www.bird.com/legal/privacy). Bird is a certified SMS provider and complies with all carrier and CTIA regulations. We do not control how Bird uses or processes your data beyond delivering our messages.
  • Data Retention: Bird retains SMS delivery logs and status data for compliance purposes. We retain your SMS consent status and message history in our database for account management and customer support. You can request deletion of your SMS data by contacting us at info@dparking.us.
  • Carrier Charges: Standard SMS message and data rates apply based on your carrier plan. Detroit Parking LLC does not charge for SMS messages. Contact your mobile carrier for specific rate information. Message frequency varies based on parking activity.
  • Opt-Out Methods: You can opt-out of SMS at any time by: (1) Replying STOP to any SMS message - this will unsubscribe you from all SMS, (2) Replying HELP to any SMS for customer support, (3) Contacting us directly at info@dparking.us or https://www.dparking.us/contact-us. Opting out of SMS will prevent you from receiving booking notifications but will not affect email communications or your account access.
  • STOP and HELP Commands: When you reply STOP to any SMS, you will receive a confirmation message. When you reply HELP, you will receive support information. Once you opt-out with STOP, you will not receive further SMS messages unless you voluntarily opt back in.
  • No Sharing for Marketing: We do not share your phone number with third parties for marketing purposes. SMS messages are transactional only and do not include marketing content. Your phone number is only used for parking-related notifications.
  • International SMS: International message rates may apply if you receive SMS while outside your country. We recommend checking with your carrier for international rates before opting in.
  • Security and Compliance: All SMS data transmission to Bird is encrypted. We comply with TCPA (Telephone Consumer Protection Act), CTIA guidelines, and all applicable SMS regulations. Bird complies with industry security standards and data protection regulations.

We use cookies, beacons, and similar technologies to understand usage patterns, remember login information, and enhance your experience. You can manage or disable cookies via your browser settings, though this may affect functionality.

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored and processed in the U.S. and may be transferred internationally to fulfill service needs. We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information, but no system is completely secure.

  • Opt out of marketing communications: Unsubscribe from email marketing by clicking the link in any promotional email.
  • Access, correct, or delete your Personal Information in accordance with applicable law by contacting us at info@dparking.us.
  • Manage tracking preferences (cookies or push notifications).
  • Request your SMS communication history and opt-out records.
